Mise-en-scene

25-02-21 L/O: To explore the use of Mise-en-scene in films The person enjoys playing music They play Guitar and have amps implying they are not only for display Seem to also listen to music as their are posters on the wall of what look like bands There is clothes all on a chair with folders and boxes on the floor suggesting the person is more than likely young as they do not care about the state of the room They have a computer but the desk looks to be a mess meaning they most likely don't use it often Mise-en-scene: Settings and Props: For Science Fiction, I would expect a high possibility of the setting being in space whether on ships or on a planet other than earth. If not in space I would expect some link to actual scientists and something they have done. For props I think unknown technology as well a very white colour palette which goes  with the ragged clothes worn by the cast. For Romantic Comedy, Either a small town or a large city with shops and restraints...

Sound

L/O: To explore the use of sound in films Music In a horror film I would expect to hear music in either a high pitch to pierce your ears or a low pitch and a low tempo. This is different to the faster paced tempo and even balance of high and low pitch, possibly including vocals I would expect to hear in an action film. In a thriller I would expect music to have a slow tempo leading up to an intense moment speeding up and having an intense sound to it. In a comedy film I would expect lighthearted music at a steady pace with a few songs having vocals. In a science fiction film I would expect the music to be made to sound more electronic and less like it was coming from a person playing an instrument and more like a machine, I would also expect no vocals. https://youtu.be/8djRc9EEc24 In this clip of the Joker it begins with Diegetic sound of Joker doing a comedy scene saying "Knock knock" with the sound of the gun clicking from being shot with no bullets in after the sound of h...

Setting and Colour

2-2-21 L/O: To explore the use of setting and colour in films Setting 1. A director may choose a isolated house in a rural location for a horror film as it allows there to be no interruptions with the plot from an outside world and it has the characters alone in an isolated location where they cannot seek help from anyone but themselves. 2. A large city for an action film works as it gives the protagonist a motive to "Save the city" and allows for multiple side characters to appear. 3. A small seaside town for a romantic comedy my be chosen as it offers potential to give greater depth to the characters and place. This allows for an audience to know most people who are important on the town and see how they watch as at the main 2 people grow. A beach can also be seen as good location for a romance as it allows for multiple different events to happen like relaxing on the beach, going in the water or eating on a table with a view looking on at a nice diner. 4. A range of diffe...
