LCA Lesson 13

L/O: To explore how a film is made and the various industry roles
Major Hollywood film studios:
- Warner Bros.
- Walt Disney Pictures
- Universal
- Paramount Pictures
- 20 Century Fox
- Sony
These big 6 Film studios dominate the industry. This is because with a smaller studio the production company will take most profits but they still have to pay a large percentage to the distribution companies and exhibition companies. With a large studio such as Warner Bros they are vertically integrated into the industry having their own distribution centres and even own cinemas for the exhibition phase. This means nearly all money goes back into the studio giving them all the profits.

Production:
Production takes place before Post Production and after Pre-Production. Production is the actual filming of a film with the visual content on the screen.
